Mr. Bhoopathiraju has been designing CAD-based projects since 2000. He is a certified electrical engineer. He has been designing mainly on AutoCAD for the US and Germany-based clients. He believes that his planning and organizational skills, along with problem-solving attitude with a competence in industry knowledge has helped him carve a successful career.

He has been working in data conversion for German clients on AutoCAD and Revit. He has an established clientele that’s consistently growing and a built up reputation due to providing quality professional services in the field of CAD.

Since 2000 to 2009, he has been a Senior CAD engineer for a software company in Hyderabad.
Of all the projects that he has worked on, the most interesting CAD project that he has ever worked on was the one where he had to work for hospital and hotel building services. It includes HVAC, electrical and plumbing service with coordination.

His favorite software is AutoCAD. He likes the filter command most, and likes to use it to search any object in a sheet easily.

A few of his favorite projects are as follows:

He worked on a project for an Institute in Taiwan for twelve months on AutoCAD. His role involved preparation of all general arrangement and rebar shop drawings, preparation of site plan, survey layout and scheme with coordinates.

The challenge was to maintain and control the documents of drawings and submission to the client, which he successfully carried out.

For another project, he worked for commando facilities in Afghanistan. He worked for three months on AutoCAD. His role included drafting in CAD, electric light plans, telecommunications networks, automatic fire detection systems and HVAC fittings plans. He was involved in designing a site with required buildings.
He worked for a Project on architectural plans, elevations and sections. He designed using AutoCAD 2000. The role involved editing and finalizing.

He worked on a project for a company in Germany where he had to design using Auto CAD 2000. His role included editing and finalizing. This was an architectural project consisting of floor plans, elevations and sections. He processed these drawings indicating walls, windows, and doors. The text was designed in German. The layer names for the objects were also in German. He also processed room-polygons to easily find an area by using AutoCAD List command.

For a project in Parcel Mapping (GIS), he worked for a client from Italy. He designed using AutoCAD. His role involved editing and finalizing. He was involved in the preparation of parcels, roads and water bodies. The drawing were converted from image format to vector format. He designed using AutoCAD MAP 2004 and Wagis2002. He performed the conversion, editing and finalizing.

He has worked on a project for San Antonio Water System for two months. He was involved in drafting with a team. He prepared overview sheets, plans, sections, cross sections, longitudinal sections of sewer line in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

V. Gainoutdinov is currently an independent CAD consultant, a role he has performed since 1993. Mr. Gainoutdinov was previously the head of design at Lambda Research optics, a mechanical engineering design company based in the United States, from 1993 to 2013.

Mr. Gainoutdinov oversaw all design activities for the company and managed a team of 2D and 3D designers (focusing on Autodesk Inventor SolidWorks, AutoCAD and CATIA 5). Mr. Gainoutdinov started his career as Mechanical Engineer at Sure Fire LLC., where he was responsible for implementing the use of CAD tools in the company. He also worked directly with the company’s customers, including military personnel and engineers. Mr. Gainoutdinov received a BMES in Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace from MATI.

1. Describe a project that was particularly challenging. What was challenging about it? What was the solution and what results did you achieve?

   All projects which I managed were challenging . Challenges differ from material of the product to customer requests. Solution is simple: do what customer required.

2. Which CAD software programs do you find the most useful for the kind of work that you do? What are the pros and cons of the various CAD software programs that you use?

   I use different CAD software, such as Solid Works,Autodesk Inventor, CATIA V5, Pro-E CREO. All software are different in way of operation and speed

3. How do you keep yourself up-to-date with the various developments in your field of work?
   Which new skills have you acquired in the past year?
   What new skills do you plan to acquire in the future?

   I do update my skills by keeping myself informed by checking Engineering Websites, company new product development announcements regarding material properties and product design based on new modern materials. I do have some plans.

4. Are there any kinds of activities that you feel are better to outsource or subcontract than to do yourself?
   Why or why not?
   What are some of the risks, in your opinion? Benefits?

   I prefer to do jobs myself because I am not sure that anyone else can make my project better.

A. Trottier is an independent CAD consultant and an experienced draftsman. He has extensive experience in the area of fire alarm systems, and is an expert in AutoCAD 2009-2011 and AutoCAD MEP 2010 along with other office software including Adobe Pro X. Mr. Trottier has designed and planned system layouts, and has also created submittal packages.

C. Dela is an expert in using AutoCAD in the area of HVAC, plumbing, water and fire protection (e.g. reticulation piping layout, infrastructure piping layout for an automated vacuum waste collection system). She has extensive experience in the area mechanical drawings for oil and gas clients, including preparing mechanical data sheet for refinery projects and the drawing/design of platforms for tanks and vessels.

A. Conte is an expert in the production of Fire Alarm, Access Control and Security system installation/submittal drawings. He and his associates have experience with all the major system product lines and the applicable codes. His team is insured and licensed.

J. Anderson offers manufacturing services such as CNC machine programming as well as design and CAD work primarily in Inventor 2008. He also has extensive experience in AutoCAD and Pro Engineer Wildfire 4.

Purushothaman is a CAD/MEP Engineer and Architectural Draughtsman specializing in multi story buildings, including the preparation of 2D /3D architectural drawings for interiors, plumbing, sanitary facilities, drainage, HVAC and fire piping.

He holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering and numerous certifications in the area of structural analysis and design.
