His favorite software is AutoCAD. He has been working on AutoCAD conversions and 2D to 3D conversions since 2007. He has been creating foundation-level drawings since 2010 as well.
Pithani has been working on CAD-based projects since 2003. He has been serving clients in diverse fields, such as info-tech, telecom, piping and marine construction.
He has been using MS Project for scheduling and AutoCAD for fabrication drawings, nesting plans, and designing 2D and 3D models.
He has been working for an Indian offshore shipping firm involved in shipbuilding since 2010.
Velauthan is a mechanical engineer. He has been working on HVAC CAD-based design services for architects and builders of commercial base buildings. He provides consultation, planning and design services for HVAC CAD.
He has worked on CAD-based projects for an Indian bank, a Canadian company that develops and sells enterprise information management software and an American conglomerate. The projects he has been working on involved concepts of interior layout and ceiling work. He is competent in handling projects based on HVAC CAD-based services including preparation of plans, sections and schematics of HVAC services. This includes chiller plant layout, ducting layout, piping layouts, detailing of plant rooms with necessary sections.
The most significant challenge for him has been the design of HVAC ducting layouts in such a way that they remain intact throughout the gradual development and the ceiling layout. While working on CAD-based projects he prepares HVAC CAD-based detailed drawings for ducting, piping and schematics.
AutoCAD has been his primary tool for producing drawings since his college days. He has also been competent in the use of Autodesk Revit since he began his career.
He travels extensively for work and discusses projects with clients face-to-face. He also communicates with them via email, TeamViewer, GoToMeeting, BlueJeans and Skype.
ConnectRallay is a Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP). He is a mechanical design engineer and has been handling complex design projects since 2010. Most of his CAD projects are 3D models, electrical circuit diagrams, P&ID’s (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), sheet metal drawings and weldment drawing. He has experience in the following engineering disciplines:
He works as a freelance design engineer, offering support to small and medium scale industries in India. He has also successfully handled projects with American multinational conglomerates and some of Asia’s biggest transport equipment companies.
So far he has handled projects involving:
Some of his recent works include:
He likes to work on CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, and Pro/Engineer.
He aims to continuous learn and update his software skills as he believes that most clients, particularly real estate and architectural companies, look for quick delivery and accuracy and by honing his software skills he is able to work more efficiently and quickly. He employs quality control and maintenance techniques at all times.
He noted that since clients are very particular about commitment to the delivery schedules, it is very important for CAD professionals to maintain good communication. Mr. Rallay uses Skype and Zoom meeting software to tackle problems remotely, but whenever required, he meets his clients in person.
Das is a CAD professional actively handling complex projects since 2008. He currently provides an engineering plan service.
He sketches and builds models on ArchiCad, handles raster to vector conversion, VectorWorks and MicroStation conversion, Microsoft VISIO conversion, engineered drafting of plans, partial map digitization (GIS) and a lot more. He has drawing and drafting expertise for all aspects of an engineering solution be it architectural, mechanical, electrical or civil. He has been working tirelessly round the clock for clients in Germany and the US since 2013. He is also an expert at GIS fields like digitization and parcel mapping. He has enjoyed a stable relationship with his clients all his career by responsibly maintaining product quality and on time delivery.
Patel has been working on CAD-based projects as a draftsman since 2009. He designs fabrication drawings for both 2D and 3D models. He specializes in 3D modelling. He is competent in ACORN, AutoCAD, and ActCAD.
He has worked on a number of projects for clients based in Canada and North America. His clients include a yoga studio in Florida, an Australian engineering company, an international technical professional engineering services firm in Texas, an American engineering and fabrication firm in Missouri and a New York-based services firm for entrepreneurs. He has been working on comprehensive detailing in the field of piping for many years as well.
ConnectSharma provides engineering services to structural steel and pre-engineered steel builders. He has worked with churches in the US and a company involved in digital electronic equipment, construction material and car accessories equipment.
When serving clients in the US, he works according to the building code standards of MBMA and AWIS. Since building code standards change from company to company based on their production capability, so he collects their standards during the course of a project. In this way, he easily adopts their standards during the preparation of GAD’s (general arrangement drawings), which he then uses for creating fabrication drawing. A fabrication drawing is further used to create shop drawings. Based on such shop drawings, he creates a component list in the form of a shipper (i.e. equipment lists for the logistics service provider).
On the basis of a company’s standards and approved drawings, he prepares shop, fabrication or component assembly drawings and bills of materials (BOM’s) or shippers. He mainly uses AutoCAD, TEKLA and MS Office to prepare these documents.
With respect to pre-engineered buildings (PEB’s), he handles all types of complexity, such as high bay and low bay combinations, fascia, bypass and flush conditions, mezzanines, cranes and crane walkway platforms, staircases, sunken slab mezzanine cut outs, canopies, screw downs and floating roof systems.
Raval has been working since 2011 in the field of new product development. For the first two years, he worked on casting, forging and automotive projects. For the next two years, he worked on agricultural machinery design, producing drawings of tractors (from the initial design phase to the final marketing) for an Indian OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). This OEM assembled agricultural equipment, such as tractors, harvesters, sprayers, uni-platforms, etc. For the next 3 years he has been working for a major engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services conglomerate. He serves US and Europe-based automotive clients involved in the manufacturing of products for recreational purposes, such as ATVs, snowmobiles and motorcycles.
While working in the engineering services industry, he has handled a number of automotive projects. The most interesting CAD project that he has worked on so far was the one where he got the opportunity to design various automotive systems including driveline, gearbox, differential, engine, chassis, interior body work and exterior body.
He observes that today in the market for CAD services, design and manufacturing are coming together and every day companies launch new technologies. He believes that with the help of CAD prototyping, experts can now quickly make designs and models.
As he has been working for clients based in the U.S and Europe in the field of design and development for many years, he has learned how to select the best software for each application. He uses software to represent his conception of an idea and makes a selection according to customer requirements. His favorite tools are Creo Parametric 2.0 and 3.0, which he uses for 3D modelling, casting, forging, sheet metal and assembling models. He also likes Catia for surfacing. He likes to work on Unigraphic and AutoCAD 2D for 2D modelling.
Since he is handling projects for US and Europe-based clients, all the work-related discussion happens on Webex, Skype, and Jabber. He is now skilled in ways of connecting with the clients through Skype and remote servers. When faced with a difficult situation, he also meets the client.
Having worked as an interim CAD draftsman and an external CAD consultant on projects, he has learned about many new technologies. He looks forward to new challenges and opportunities every day.
