Mr. R. Chanmugam

Mr. R. Chanmugam is a Marine Engineer, Mechanical Engineer and Inventor. He has over 30 years experience in the marine and manufacturing sectors working in Asia, Africa, Europe and New Zealand. He provides digital prototyping services to machinery manufacturers, engineers and inventors. Ray’s early career was in Marine Engineering working for companies in Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and the UK. He has project managed major engineering projects in Sri Lanka, UK and New Zealand. He was also a lecturer and Research Fellow at Middlesex University’s Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronic Centre in London, UK, where he developed a Retrofit Low Inertia kit for Cotton Ginning machines in Tanzania. Most recently he was a Techlink Consultant to the Foundation for Research Science & Technology (FRST) in Northland. Ray brings together a unique combination of skills, knowledge and industry experience. His innovative qualities are demonstrated in his most recent invention - a fully automated boat gangway. He holds a BEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
