lens cover. According to his client’s requirement, he creates a prototype and finalizes the product.

P. Munusamy has been involved in the preparation of coal piping layout and piping supports (bowl mill to furnace) for boilers, isometric drawings for piping system, Bill of Materials (BOM), piping routing for boiler fuel oil systems, (HFO, LDO Tank to furnace). Involved in preparation of detail drawings for coal piping, shop bends, ceramic bends, structural layout for boilers, stokers, feeders, and transition chutes for boilers, HVAC, Plumbing schematics and layouts support for ducts. Involved in preparation of layout drawings for cement plants (Alkali by-pass, coal mill, lignite or coal dosing and firing system, raw meal storage silo). He has most recently served as a team leader responsible for project checking, guiding team members, communicating with customers regarding project queries and design concepts.

He is competent in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit and Solid Edge. He has been designing end-to-end engineering services and products for the global automotive industry. He has been working on concept designing, reverse engineering, CAD-CAM services, paper to CAD conversion, 2D to 3D CAD conversion, design and development of systems – sub systems, validation, tooling, rapid prototyping, mould development, part sourcing and manufacturing support. Tawade is a certified electrical engineer and a company owner. He has been working on CAD-based projects since 2015.
He has been working mostly on electric control panel manufacturing and PLC (i.e. programmable logical control) service designing. He works mostly on panel-design software such as AutoCAD and EPLAN Electric P8. He has been creating a range of HMI (Human Machine Interface) devices. He has also been designing a range of industrial computer control systems (PLCs) that help to monitor states of input devices and make decisions to control output devices.
He prefers phone and email-based communication with clients and meets them face to face to arrive at important decisions.

A. Dabholkar

Dabholkar has been working on CAD-based projects since 1997. He is a qualified mechanical draughtsman.
He has been working as a CAD expert for many companies in India. He is competent in AutoCAD-2D, SolidWorks, Revit 2009, ArchiCAD 11 and Vico Constructer. He is also proficient in Microsoft – Excel, Word, Power Point, CorelDraw and Photoshop.
He began working for CAD-based projects as a Senior CAD-draughtsman for an engineering services company where for three years he communicated with clients regarding their queries, scheduled and checked drawings prepared by a drafting team. He was working on electrical substation designs, electrical layout drawings, general arrangements, earth mat layouts, clearance diagrams, erection key drawings, protection drawings, structural drawings and architectural drawings.
He then started working as an AutoCAD designer for another company providing engineering-fabrication and construction services to construct heavy industrial Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB). Here, he worked on PEB structural drawings, general arrangements, fabrication drawings and erection drawings for four years.
He then worked with a company trading, distributing and supplying bundle note counting machines. Here he worked for six years on note counting machines, mainly drawings and detailing of clamper assemblies, cam assemblies, rotor assemblies, fabrication drawings and machine assemblies.
Then he worked as a mechanical draughtsman for a company that manufacturers automobile parts, components and hard chrome plated shafts in India. Here he worked for two years on component drawings, detail drawings, assembly drawings of portable irons, portable fans, table fans, ceiling fans, rotors and stators.
He then worked as a mechanical draughtsman for an Indian multinational company engaged in design, manufacturing and marketing of products related to power generation, transmission and distribution. In the fan division of the design department he worked for three years on designs of fans, assembly drawings, detail drawings, component drawings, fan end shields, blades, rotors, stators and blade alignments. In the Machine Division of the design department he worked on designs of submersible pumps, component drawings of fans, end shields, main bodies, rotors, stators and shafts.

Rallay

Rallay is a Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP). He is a mechanical design engineer and has been handling complex design projects since 2010. Most of his CAD projects are 3D models, electrical circuit diagrams, P&ID’s (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), sheet metal drawings and weldment drawing. He has experience in the following engineering disciplines:

  • Mechanical design engineering,
  • Automotive engineering,
  • Petroleum engineering,
  • Hydraulics engineering and
  • Industrial automation.

He works as a freelance design engineer, offering support to small and medium scale industries in India. He has also successfully handled projects with American multinational conglomerates and some of Asia’s biggest transport equipment companies.

So far he has handled projects involving:

  • conceptual designs, parametric designs, 2D to 3D of parts & assemblies.
  • 3D models of casting, forging & machined parts, sheet metal, assemblies, weldments and surfacing.

He likes to work on CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, and Pro/Engineer.
He aims to continuous learn and update his software skills as he believes that most clients, particularly real estate and architectural companies, look for quick delivery and accuracy and by honing his software skills he is able to work more efficiently and quickly. He employs quality control and maintenance techniques at all times.

He noted that since clients are very particular about commitment to the delivery schedules, it is very important for CAD professionals to maintain good communication. Mr. Rallay uses Skype and Zoom meeting software to tackle problems remotely, but whenever required, he meets his clients in person.
